Origins of Halloween:

Halloween was originally a Celtic festival warding of ghosts however over the years it merged with the Christian All Saints Day and eventually got the name Halloween. Aside from warding off spirits the holiday also celebrated the harvest.

Americans would later introduce the tradition of going house to house asking for food or money. They also turned the holiday into a more festive event.

Now a days Halloween has less to do with religion and spirits and more to do with partying and letting loose. Halloween is the one time of the year both adults and children dress up in fanciful costumes and play pretend.
